Sunset Valley Vineyard's organic wines are certified organic by BioGro (BioGro number 736), so that you can be guaranteed of their organic quality. Read about our wines, produced in Upper Moutere in the Nelson region of New Zealand, below.

Please note that half cases attract a 5% discount, whole cases a 10% discount on bottle prices.

2009 Pinot Rose

2009 Pinot Rose

This is a light off dry rose made from 100% Pinot noir grapes. It was made using the traditional rose technique of short skin contact followed by a slow cool ferment. It has a fragrant fruity nose with hints of strawberries and chocolate with a light, fresh, well ballanced palate. Serve lightly chilled with lunch in the sun.

2009 Sauvignon Blanc

2009 Sauvignon Blanc

This is an off dry full bodied Sauvignon Blanc picked late in April 2009 with very high sugar levels giving luscious passion fruit flavours and a fragrant elderflower background. A slow cool ferment stopped naturally at 9g/l residual sweetness, giving a full round mouth feel. This wine is best served lightly chilled and is ideal with seafood, Asian dishes, light curries and chicken.

2009 Unwooded Chardonnay

2009 Unwooded Chardonnay

Picked with high sugar levels in late April 2009 this wine has a full ripe tropical fruit aroma.

Gentle whole bunch pressing of the grapes was followed by a slow cool ferment which stopped naturally at 13 g/l residual sweetness giving a full round mouth feel. This wine will continue to develop with cellaring for up to 5 years.

Ideal lightly chilled with seafood, chicken, and asian dishes.

2008 Chardonnay Reserve

2008 Chardonnay Reserve

An early spring and long hot summer followed by a cool autumn has given this wine an aroma full of ripe citrus with hints of tropical fruits and vanilla. The grapes were whole bunch pressed, barrel fermented and aged on yeast lees for a year, producing a well integrated wine with a soft palate and a long buttery aftertaste. The wine will continue to develop with 2 to 5 years cellaring.

2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

The 2008 season was characterised by an early spring followed by a very hot dry summer and cool autumn, giving a fruity wine with sweet blackcurrant notes and hints of blackberry. A year in French and American Oak Barriques has contributed firm tannins and spicy notes with a hint of vanilla. Will develop further with cellaring from 2 to 5 years.

A long hot and very dry summer followed by a cool autumn has given a wine with a ripe fruity aroma with hints of plums and caramel. A year in French oak barriques has helped to develop a full round palate with a smooth lingering aftertaste and layers of complexity. This wine will develop with cellaring for up to 10 years.
